Our Story
In 2005, I travelled from Sydney to Marrakech on a whim — and never quite left.
What drew me first was an imagined Morocco. What made me stay was the real one. The grit and generosity. The meeting of cultures. The quiet beauty of everyday life. Marrakech continues to shape how we see, design and live.
Over time, curiosity became connection.
Together with my brother Alex, based in Brisbane, and a community of skilled Moroccan artisans, we began creating original pieces that honour traditional craftsmanship while speaking in a contemporary voice. Each design is developed in our studio and brought to life slowly, by hand.
From the beginning, our intention has been simple: to create with purpose, to respect the integrity of handmade work, and to build something grounded in human connection.
Today, Hamimi is a studio in Marrakech and an extended family of artisans just beyond the city.
Everything we create carries the imprint of the human hand — subtle variations, honest materials, imperfectly perfect.
