Our crochet lamps are handcrafted by skilled women artisans in a small village just outside Marrakech. Slight variations in size and shape are a natural part of the handmade process.

Crafted from traditional Moroccan hand-spun viscose ‘kitan’ yarn on solid brass rings, our lamps are designed for interior use only.

They should not be installed in bathrooms or other high-humidity areas, as moisture and steam can soften the fibres and alter their shape.

We also make our lamps from water-resistant nylon yarn, making them suitable for outdoor under-cover areas, bathrooms, and high-humidity settings.

Cleaning

Dust regularly using a feather duster, lint roller or vacuum with a furniture nozzle attachment.

After removing dust, the lamp may be gently wiped with a lightly damp cloth.

Our jewellery is handcrafted from solid, uncoated brass - a traditional alloy of copper and zinc used in Morocco for generations. Much of the brass used today is recycled, making it both a sustainable and enduring material.

Over time, brass will naturally develop a patina. Some embrace this lived-in finish; others prefer to restore its original brightness. As our pieces are solid brass (not plated), they can be polished without fear of colour wearing away.

Cleaning Brass

The simplest method is a jewellery polishing cloth, such as a Sunshine polishing cloth, available online worldwide.

Brass cleaner (e.g. Brasso) can also be used with a soft cloth.

For a natural alternative:

1. Mix equal parts lemon juice and water.
2. Soak the brass for 5 minutes.
3. Rinse thoroughly.
4. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
5. Buff gently once fully dry.

To delay tarnishing, avoid moisture, steam, perfumes, lotions and harsh chemicals. Apply skincare products before putting jewellery on. Store in a dry place.

If your piece includes leather elements, simply wipe them clean with a soft, damp cloth.

Each Hamimi bag is handcrafted in Marrakech from carefully selected full-grain leather and textiles chosen for character, strength and texture.

Leather is a natural material that will soften and deepen in tone over time — this is part of its beauty.

General Care

Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth when needed.
For stubborn marks, use a specialised leather cleaner (always test first on a discreet area).

Allow any moisture to dry naturally — avoid heat or direct sun exposure.

Protect & Store

Store in a cool, dry place with ventilation. When not in use, keep your bag in its dust bag.

A leather protector or conditioner may be used occasionally to nourish and protect the material (test first).

Please note that natural variations in colour and grain are part of the leather’s character. Dark fabrics or unwashed denim may transfer colour onto lighter leathers, particularly during early wear.
